URFL 2013 Fantasy Football Leagues And Rules
To keep things simple ALL URFL leagues use TEN starting positions and must conform to the following roster.
QB-RB-RB-WR-WR-WR-WR/TE/RB-WR/TE/RB-K-Defense
Total roster size for ALL leagues is TWENTY and so each draft will last twenty rounds.
There are FOUR different types of leagues:
1. PPR Live Draft Leagues
2. Standard Scoring Live Draft Leagues
3. PPR Slow Draft Leagues
4. Standard Scoring Slow Draft Leagues
"Slow Draft Leagues" can take a week or more to complete. Each franchise owner gets 12 hours to make a pick.
B. Scoring System
ALL leagues use the following point scoring system:
TD Pass: 4 points
TD rush or receiving: 6 points
Defense/Special Teams TD: 6 points
Each 10 yards rushing or receiving: 1 point
Each 25 yards passing: 1 point
Each interception thrown: -2 points
Each fumble lost -2 points
Each sack made (DEF): 1 point
Each INT or fumble recovered (DEF): 2 points
Each SAFETY (DEF): 4 points
Each blocked kick (DEF): 2 points
Each Extra Point (PAT) made: 1 point
Each 2-point conversion caught, run in, or thrown in: 2 points
Each field goal <41 yards: 3 points
Each field goal between 41 and 50 yards: 4 points
Each field goal 51 yards or over: 5 points
Each field goal MISSED (K): -2 points
Each extra point MISSED (K) -1 point
-Defenses also score or lose points depending on points allowed:
0 points allowed: 7 points
1-6 points allowed: 5 points
7-13 points allowed: 3 points
14-17 points allowed: 1 point
23-28 points allowed: -1 point
29-35 points allowed: -2 points
36-45 points allowed: -3 points
46 or more allowed: -5 points
In addition, for ALL PPR (point per reception) leagues, 1 point will be awarded for each reception made.
NOTE: In the event a player on your starting roster returns a kick for a score or otherwise scores while on defense or special teams that player WILL NOT be awarded duplicate points. THOSE POINTS will go to the Defense.
C. Game Play, Scheduling, League Setup
ALL leagues are TWELVE TEAM leagues divided into THREE divisions. During the season, franchises play each other head-to-head for 15 weeks, the last 2 weeks (we play on Week 17!) being the playoffs. The playoffs for each league will consist of FOUR teams: three division winners and one wildcard team.
TIEBREAKERS for season-ending standings are, in order:
1. Head-to-head record
2. Total points scored
3. Division record
4. Week 15 points scored
TIES ARE ALLOWED in weekly matchups.
D. League Hosting, Costs, and Payouts
In the past I have used all free services like ESPN, NFL.com, FLEAFLICKER, and so on for hosting and have had good results. As I get the leagues set up the links to the host will be clear so you will know where you are playing.
We will have $30, $50, $100, and $250 leagues in 2013, if there is an interest we'll also do one or two 500 dollar leagues.
$30 leagues: $360 collected, $320 (almost 90%) paid out as follows:
Championship Game Winner: $150, Championship Game loser $50, division winners $40 each
-NOTE that one team could win multiple prizes. Better than 1 in 4 chance of winning.
$50 leagues: $600 collected, $550 (more than 90%) paid out as follows:
Championship Game Winner: $250, Championship Game loser $100, division winners $50 each, high point scoring franchise weeks 1-15 $50.
-NOTE that one team could win multiple prizes. Better than 1 in 3 chance of winning.
$100 leagues: $1200 collected, $1100 (more than 90%) paid out as follows:
Championship Game Winner: $400, Championship Game loser $200, division winners $100 each, high point scoring franchise weeks 1-15 $100. Highest scoring franchises NFL weeks 8-17: $10 each

$250 leagues: $3000 collected, $2850 (95%) paid out as follows:
Championship Game Winner: $800, Championship Game loser $400, division winners $300 each, high point scoring franchise weeks 1-15 $200. Highest scoring franchises NFL weeks 7-17: $50 each
-NOTE that one team could win multiple prizes. Better than 1 in 2 (50%) chance of winning.
E.Trades and Sportsmanship
Fantasy football here is a game of skill and is played on a level field. No collusion or cheating of any kind will be tolerated and I will therefore act as Commissioner for all leagues.
Trading IS allowed for the first 13 weeks of the season. Nothing causes fantasy football more grief than the whole idea of which trade is fair and which is not. In the URFL, as a general rule, ALL TRADES that pass the league vote WILL BE ALLOWED UNLESS TWO or more league members complain for legitimate reasons about the same trade. This could happen if, for instance, only two franchises in a league vote nay on a bad trade, but no other franchise owners bothered to vote at all on it. My first recourse would be to request a vote from the others, and then, failing that, make a Commish decision for that league, in such a rare case.
Also, for leagues not offering late-season weekly prizes, rosters will be LOCKED for all franchises not in their league playoffs. This is to prohibit roster-dumping.
